Welcome to Cookie Pet Care ("Cookie", "the app", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Cookie mobile application. By creating an account or using Cookie, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Cookie. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the app, you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. Account Registration
Cookie uses third-party authentication services. By signing in, you authorize us to access your basic authentication profile information (name, email, and profile photo) as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your authentication account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Households and Shared Access
Cookie allows you to create or join a household to collaborate on pet care with other users.
- As the household owner, you are responsible for managing members and their roles.
- All data within a household (pets, reminders, shopping lists, expenses, and health records) is shared with and accessible by all household members according to their assigned role.
- When you invite someone to your household, they will gain access to all household data upon accepting the invitation.
- You are responsible for only inviting trusted individuals to your household.
4. User Content
"User Content" refers to all information, text, photos, files, and data you submit to Cookie, including pet profiles, health records, reminders, shopping items, and expenses.
- You retain ownership of all User Content you submit.
- By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the app's services to you and your household members.
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of your User Content.
- You must not upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
- You must not upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
5. Acceptable Use
When using Cookie, you agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the app's infrastructure or other users' experience
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the app
- Upload viruses, malware, or other malicious content
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app
- Use the app to store information unrelated to pet care in a manner that abuses the service
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or abuse features
6. Pet Health Information Disclaimer
Cookie provides tools to organize and track your pets' health records, medications, and veterinary visits. This information is stored for your personal reference only.
Cookie does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. The app is not a substitute for professional veterinary care. Always consult a qualified veterinarian for your pet's health needs.
We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on the health information stored in the app.
7. Expense and Financial Data
Cookie allows you to track pet-related expenses for personal budgeting purposes. This feature is for informational use only.
- Cookie is not a financial service, accounting tool, or tax preparation software.
- We do not process payments or handle any financial transactions.
- Expense calculations and summaries are provided as-is and should not be relied upon for formal financial reporting.
- You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any expense data you enter.
8. Notifications and Reminders
Cookie provides local device notifications to remind you about pet care tasks. These reminders are delivered on a best-effort basis.
- We do not guarantee that notifications will be delivered on time or at all, as delivery depends on your device settings, operating system, and battery management.
- You should not rely solely on Cookie reminders for critical pet care tasks such as medication administration.
- We are not liable for any consequences arising from missed or delayed notifications.
9. Intellectual Property
The Cookie app, including its design, features, code, graphics, and Cookie mascot character, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. This license does not include the right to modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the app.
10. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen.
- If you are a household owner with other members, you may transfer ownership before deleting your account.
- If you are the sole owner of a household, deleting your account will permanently delete all household data, including all pets, reminders, expenses, shopping lists, and health records.
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Data you contributed to a shared household may remain accessible to other household members if you leave the household without deleting it.
11. Service Availability
We strive to keep Cookie available and functioning at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
- The app may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the app at any time, with or without notice.
- We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service interruptions.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
Cookie is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the app will meet your specific requirements, that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app.
Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the app shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is less.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict of law principles.
